The Jenny Craig diet company is established on 1983 by Jenny and Sidney Craig. My research shows that the Jenny Craig Diet is actually nothing special. Its a low fat diet that follows the USDA food pyramid recommendation. As you might know, this is a really old guideline and after so many years Americans keeps getting fatter and fatter. In this article I’m going to do a short review on Jenny Craig. Bear in mind however that this review might not be so accurate when you read this because the company might have changed their menu. In my humble opinion (backed by some casual research) this is because most people want the support and convenience offered by these programs. In my opinion, there’s nothing Jenny Craig offers you that you can’t do it for yourself. For example, your personal Jenny Craig trainer is just a normal human being that are not professionally trained in diets and nutrition. The jenny craig expert team receives very little training in such a complex topic as obesity, they don’t know anymore than you do. The truth is, most of the information can be freely found on the internet. The only diet information they’ve probably ever learn is the Jenny Craig system. They might be highly informed in the Jenny Craig diet plan but this creates a bias towards other diet plans, almost like brainwashing.

How about the low fat and low calorie food you ask, certainly one cannot get the same food that Jenny Craig provides? The food is not that hard to procure on your own too. Eat a lot of vegetables and fruits, reduce meat and you will eat better than any diet plan out there. In fact, its healthier to learn about calories and nutrition on your own that buy the Jenny Cuisine (a food company of Jenny craig) frozen foods. I know what you’re thinking, it can’t be so simple! But the fact is the best kept secret are always simple.

Sure, its a little bit troublesome to learn about nutrition and calories but with the advancement on today’s smart phone…you can literally scan a code bar into your phone and get all the calories and nutrition information displayed on your phone. Plus, there’s tons of website out there that has calories information and let you keep track of your calorie consumption.

I can’t think of an easier way to lose weight, if you still think that its too troublesome. Feel free to join them and depend on them for a very long time. That’s what they want anyway. However, you should know that the food alone will cost you $15 dollar per day. Stray from the low calorie diet jenny Craig provides for you (1200 calories per day) and you will gain the weight back fast. Eat healthy and you won’t have this problem. Trust me.

If you need someone to support you through the hard times get an accountability buddy. Get your friend to join you in the slimming quest or join an online forum for that. In other words, you shouldn’t have to waste around $500 per month to slim down.
