Weight Watchers Review

Weight watchers has been known as the big fat company who just wants to suck your money out of your pocket. Of course, if it didn’t work it couldn’t possibly survived as a company for such a long time right? If you want to know the truth about weight watchers then you should continue reading.

Weight Watchers Meetings

I think the reason why weight watchers is so successful isn’t because of its diet or food plan or anything like that. Instead, the real reason why it works so well is because of its infamous meetings. Many people find those meetings absolutely inspiring and motivating. But unfortunately, some people find the meetings troublesome and de-motivating. Enough people despite these meetings that weight watchers has to offer a non-meeting package on their weight loss plans. I think these section of people does not end up losing the weight they want to lose.

Weight Watchers Food

Another popular aspect of weight watchers is their packaged food that are low in calories, or low in points to use their own language. However, those foods are normally processed food so it might not be so healthy to be dependent on it for the long run. But if you are lazy and if you are disorganized then the weight watchers food plan is the perfect plan for you.

But there is something that you should know about weight watchers before you join them. This is one of their dirty secrets. You see, the so called “point counting” is nothing more than calorie counting. The weight watchers marketing department knows that people don’t lose weight from calorie counting in the long term. So they conjure something called points counting to confuse the public.

If you don’t know why calorie counting is bad for you let me spell it out for you. Calorie counting works in the short term but will actually decrease in effectiveness as the time goes by. You see, your metabolism will start to decrease because it is trying to prevent your body for using too much energy when energy source (food) is scarce. This creates a few problem, with lower metabolism you are not losing weight anymore and you are constantly hungry too. It won’t be long before you give in to your hunger and start eating like a homeless man. Because of this you will end up fatter than you are previously.

Weight Watchers: Conclusion

Right now, its obvious that the weight watchers plan isn’t going to work for everyone. I would advise you to go for a healthier diet than the frozen food plan weight watchers is so popular for. Its good for you and you get to lose your weight for a very long time. I’m not saying that weight watchers won’t work for everyone of course. Some people find it beneficial to lose some fat and then revert back to healthy eating. At the end of the day, just keep in mind that they have board of directors and shareholders to answer to. They are just like any other company in America and their number one reason for existing is to make profit.

You sound a little bitter. Points or calories, what’s the difference? We all know you need to eat less (and healthier) and exercise more to lose weight.. then as with any other diet, you have to continue to maintain. You can occasionally splurge, but cannot go back to your old habits.

I joined weight watchers back about 15 yrs. ago and at that time they had a booklet with the foods and their food value such as carbs, sugar, satlt and yes calories but I used the book as a source to pick foods that were healthy and to make changes in my over all eating. I was in a job that was very physical and I did alot of stair climbing and walking. I ate 3 meals a day and the snacks in between and worked very hard on drinking water since I am really a coffee drinker. I went from 189 lbs to 133 lbs in about 3 months. I found that I ate more than I ever did and the food was not the “weight watcher” food but just ordinary vegetables and fruits and lean meat, fish , and poultry. I just made the effort to change from alot of sweets and gravies and bread, margarine, mayo and more exercise and the weight came off but I was laid off and got lazy and reverted back to old eating and gained the weight back again but it teaches you how to combine foods and what is considered a single serving.
